A passionate climber, snowboarder, and American Mountain Guides Association Rock & Splitboard Guide, Jere has traveled to both sides of the equator, pursuing high, exposed settings among the earth’s most compelling peaks. His powder pursuits have taken him from the Continental Divide in Colorado to the Tetons in Wyoming, on to Valdez, Alaska and in search of hidden couloirs filled with Japanese blower. His rock pursuits have taken him from the desert towers and sandstone arches of the Southwest US to the towering granite monoliths in the Wind Rivers and Bugaboos. After years calling Colorado home, Jere decided to leave deep slab instabilities for deep snow immersion in the Pacific Northwest. The North Cascades around Mount Baker is now his home turf, where he has worked with industry leaders at Pro Guiding Service and North Cascade Mountain Guides to create comprehensive splitboard programs that introduce new splitters to the backcountry and give expert riders the opportunity to hone their splitboard mountaineering skills on multi-day traverses across heavily glaciated peaks. Recently, Jere launched his own year-round mountain guiding service, Guided Exposure. Jere is also an Apprentice Alpine Guide, American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education Course Leader, American Avalanche Association Pro Member, and holds an Outdoor Recreation Leadership Degree and Wilderness Emergency Medical Services Certification from Colorado Mountain College.
