Brennan Lagasse is a ski guide, educator, and writer living on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, California. When Brennan isn’t on personal ski missions in his home range, the Sierra Nevada, he’s spreading his knowledge of the backcountry by guiding all over the world. He guides human-powered ski trips annually to Alaska, Antarctica, Greenland, and the Himalaya, and helped pioneer a helicopter touring program in Cordova, Alaska, where they set up deep in the Chugach Range and fly clients in to tour from camp. Back home, Brennan advocates for access and protection of wild places and public lands working closely with the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance, the Winter Wildlands Alliance, and the movement to defend the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He writes for publications like Powder Magazine, Yes! Magazine, and he helped launch the backcountry snow journal Ascent.
