JULES HANNA

LEAD GUIDE

FROM: CALIFORNIA / ALASKA, USA

SOCIAL: @JULES_HANNA

Jules is one of the first splitboard guides to gain certification through the American Mountain Guides Association. His passion for riding in the mountains and sharing experiences continues to lead him on a path of exploration and adventure. After spending a decade snowboarding up and down the west coast and British Columbia, he found his communities in Lake Tahoe, California and McCarthy, Alaska. A nomad at heart, he follows the seasonal patterns and chases snow around the world. His guiding career has been diverse with highlights working as a climbing ranger at Mt. Rainier National Park, a mountaineer in Greenland and Antarctica with the National Science Foundation and a splitboard guide in his home range of the Sierra Nevada as well as select international locales such as Japan, South America and the Antarctic peninsula. A keen observer of snow, he holds a Level III with the American Avalanche Institute and with the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education. Jules is a Wilderness First Responder and has worked as an Emergency Medical Technician. Blending work experiences and time spent climbing and riding in the mountains has allowed Jules to offer up ski and splitboard trips with a balance of respect, creativity and fun. A great day in the mountains is riding fluid lines on the best snow and sharing stories at day's end around a fire with good food and newfound friends. Jules is a guide ambassador for Jones Snowboards and specializes in custom trips for enthusiastic riders.
